Schramka Recognized for its Support in the Prevention of Child Abuse

"Whenever we see an injustice or some ill, we believe it presents an opportunity to do something about it." - John Klein

Some businesses, when faced with choosing between the bottomline or the greater good, find ways to shrink from their responsibilities to others. That, however, is not how Schramka conducts itself in the community.

Earlier this week, John Klein , the General Manager of Schramka Funeral Homes, received a plaque from a group you may not automatically think of as extending protections for young people.

The Guardians of the Children is a motorcycle club that takes seriously its efforts to educate and prevent harm to children.

Kevin Parens , whose road name is “Judge," is the President of the Guardians of the Children , Milwaukee Chapter, and a tireless advocate for public education and raising awareness of the hidden and lasting effects of child abuse.

Klein accepted the plaque on behalf of Schramka Funeral Homes for support of their organization and mission.

"We're very grateful for this honor," Klein said. "We're pleased that we can help the Guardians in their efforts to improve our young citizens' lives and make our communities safer and more liveable."
